Captain Plumber: a website built around local service searches

The structure behind Captain Plumber’s Kelowna website: 28 service and area pages, clear inquiry paths and a foundation for measuring local search.

Captain Plumber serves Kelowna and the Central Okanagan. The website needed to explain which plumbing jobs the team handles, where it works and how a visitor can get in touch.

The documented build includes 28 service and area pages and a custom Vue and Vite website. This case study explains that structure and the decisions behind it.

Start with the service someone needs

A person with a leaking fixture needs different information from someone comparing gas-line installation options. Service pages give those questions enough space: the work offered, coverage, practical details and the next step.

The build includes pages for drain cleaning, leak detection, faucet installation, gas-line installation and plumbing inspection, alongside coverage information for Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country and Peachland.

Give local pages a reason to exist

Local pages should help customers understand real coverage and services. Simply repeating a page with another city name does not add useful information.

Google's spam policies describe doorway abuse and scaled content created primarily to manipulate rankings. The practical editorial test is straightforward: does this page answer a distinct customer question accurately?

Page count alone is not an outcome. It is a description of the build. Pages still need to be maintained as services and coverage change.

Make the next step easy to find

The customer journey leads from understanding the service to calling or making an inquiry. That means contact options need to be clear, readable and usable on a phone, including when someone arrives directly on a service page.

The site uses a custom Vue and Vite implementation. That is an implementation choice, not a guarantee of rankings or conversions. Useful content, dependable interactions and a clear offer remain part of the work.

Separate the delivered site from future ideas

The website and service-page structure are delivered work. An AI phone agent was discussed as a possible next step; it has not been built for this client as part of the work described here.

If call handling is added later, it needs its own scope, routing rules and measurement. The current case study should not imply that the site already answers calls or operates an automated receptionist.

What we can substantiate

The original project record documents the platform and the 28-page service and area structure. The public site is available at captainplumber.ca.

An earlier version of this article quoted search impressions and query positions without an exact reporting period. Those figures are omitted here until a dated source can accompany them. They should not be read as current results or a promise for another business.

For a useful performance review, compare dated Search Console clicks, impressions and query information with actual inquiries. Google's Search Console guide explains what the tool measures. An impression, a click and a new customer describe different events.

What another service business can take from it

Start with your real services and coverage. Give each important customer question a useful home, connect those pages clearly and make contact straightforward. Then collect evidence over time.

Our SEO service and web design service describe how we approach that work. A first conversation can begin with your existing site and the jobs you want more of.
